Eligibility

Applicant must:

1. Be living in Australia
2. Be either married to or in a de facto relationship with Australian citizen, permanent resident of Australia or eligible New Zealand citizen

Firstly, the applicant will be granted temporary visa subclass 820 for a specific period which then leads to permanent residency visa subclass 801. However, only in case of an ongoing relationship between the partners or married couple.

Eligibility

2. Be either married to or in a de facto relationship with Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen

Firstly, the applicant will be granted temporary visa subclass 309 for a specific period which then leads to permanent residency visa subclass 100. However, only in case of an ongoing relationship between the partners or married couple.

An applicant may apply for both temporary and permanent visa together.
