This visa subclass allows the recent graduates from an Australian institute to stay in Australia, study and work there for a temporary time period. The time of stay depends on the stream of the visa you are applying for. Subclass 485 has the following streams

  1. Graduate work stream

This visa allows the recent international graduate who has completed 92 CRICOS weeks of vocational education at a minimum from an Australian institution to stay, work and study in Australia for up to 18 months. For this visa, the applicant’s profession should be listed in the short or medium-term occupational list.

 What is the eligibility criteria of this visa?

Here are the eligibility conditions for this visa

  • The age of the applicant should be under 50
  • Must be holding a valid student visa
  • Should have completed the vocational training of at least 92 weeks of study registered on CRICOS
  • Applicant’s skills and qualifications should be related to the occupation listed in the relevant occupational list
  • The skill assessment result should be positive
  • Must satisfy all health and character requirements
  1. Post-study work stream

This visa is for the international graduates from an Australian institution who has completed at least 92 CRICOS weeks of higher studies to live, work and study in Australia. Students who have completed bachelors or masters degrees can stay up to 2 years while the students who have done masters by research and PhD can stay up to 3-4 years respectively.

  • The age of the applicant should be under 50
  • Must be holding a valid student visa
  • Should have completed the higher education degree of at least 92 weeks of study registered on CRICOS
  • Applicant’s skills and qualifications should be related to the occupation listed in relevant occupational list
  • The skill assessment result should be positive
  • Must satisfy all health and character requirements

Temporary skill shortage visa subclass 482

TSS visa subclass 482 is the visa subclass that allows an Australian employer to employ people from overseas for a job he or she is offering only on the condition that he or she should not be able to find a suitable person for that job in Australia. The time of stay for this visa depends on the stream of this visa subclass. Following are different streams of this visa subclass

  1. Short-term stream

This visa stream is for those whose occupation lies in the short-term occupational list. This visa allows its holder to live in Australia up 2-4 years

  1. Medium term stream

This visa subclass is for those who belong to occupation listed in long or medium term occupational list. This visa allows its holder to live in Australia up 4 years

  1. Labor agreement stream

This visa subclass is for employer who have an ongoing labor agreement with the department of home affairs. This allows them to employ people from overseas according to the term of labor agreement.
