The Government of Australia issued some updates for different Skilled Visa Australia. Let’s start with Family Visa Processing, If you’re a permanent resident of Australia and want to bring your children, parents or spouse there then you can apply for Family Visa. The permanent citizens of Australia can sponsor their relatives for a family visit visa. The Government of Australia issues up to 60,000 family visas every year for the family members of people living in Australia.

 

Categories of Family Visas

There are four main categories of family visa which include:

  • Partner Visa
  • Parent Visa
  • Child Visa
  • Student Visa

Health Concerns and Clearances

The Government of Australia provides a huge number of family visa applications each year. The applicants can only be eligible for the family visa if they fulfill certain requirements. The visa applications include international and national candidates.

 

Furthermore, the Australian Government has arranged health policies under which the visa applications will be approved. The candidates who have their health clearance certificates will be handed over the visa quickly as compared to others.

Offshore and Onshore Visa Concessions

The Covid-19 pandemic has brutally affected the world. For this reason, the Government of Australia has eased visa restrictions for onshore and offshore applicants. The concessions have been started on the 19th of September 2020.

 

The onshore family visa applications will be given to specific categories which have been affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic. These family visa applications will be open from the 27th of February 2021. The visa categories include:

  • Child (subclass 101) visa
  • Adoption (subclass 102) visa
  • Dependent Child (subclass 445) visa
  • Prospective Marriage (subclass 300) visa
  • Partner (subclass 309) visa.

 

Although, this visa concession has been stretched out to candidates for Parent Visa since the 24th of March 2021. The selected categories for this visa are:

  • Parent (subclasses 103)
  • Contributory Parent (subclass 143)
  • Contributory Parent (subclass 173)

 

This visa concession is also being offered to applicants outside Australia since March 2021. These visas groups consist of:

  • Aged Parent (subclass 804)
  • Contributory Aged Parent (subclass 864)

 

Working Holiday Maker

The working holidaymakers are people or visitors who own Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) or a Work or Holiday Visa (subclass 462). The visa holders are temporary visitors who come to Australia for employment and pays their taxes.

 

However, this visa is limited to only a few countries and some of them are:

  • United Kingdom
  • Canada
  • Netherlands
  • Japan
  • Republic of Ireland
  • Republic of Korea
  • Thailand
  • Malta
  • Germany
  • Denmark
  • Sweden
  • Norway
  • Finland
  • The Republic of Cyprus
  • France
  • Italy
  • Belgium
  • Estonia
  • Bangladesh
  • Chile
  • Taiwan

Latest Update 

The Working Holiday Maker Visa holders outside Australia who are can’t get back to Australia due to the pandemic can apply for this visa through VAC wavier. There are specific criteria and age limits to be eligible for this visa.

 

The applications with VAC wavier and VAC refund are supposed to be submitted by 31st of December 2022. Though, the VAC measure is currently available for the Working Holiday Makers outside Australia so they can easily avail it. Later on, the applicants will get a new wavier along with their new visa in 2021.

General Skilled Migration Program

The general skilled migration program is for the people who want to settle in Australia permanently. This program is specially designed for skilled individuals who want to work and live in Australia. One can be eligible for this migration program by scoring on its test. The General Skilled Migration Visa is either independent or can also be sponsored by the State and any family member in Australia. Moreover, candidates with sponsorship by an Australian employee are also eligible for this migration visa.

Processing Period for GSM Visa Applications

The Government of Australia is picking up the visa applications under Direction No. 87. The candidates have a choice of selecting employment either within the Critical Sector or outside of the Critical Sector. However, applicants who apply for the Critical Sector will be entertained first for visa application processing. On the other hand, the applications for other than Critical sectors will have to wait longer for their application to process.

GSM Visa Subclasses

The migration visa subclasses applications will be open for priority processing arrangements as well as for the migration program planning level. The generally skilled migration visa subclasses include:

  • Subclass 189 (Skilled – Independent) (Points-tested Stream)
  • Subclass 190 (Skilled – Nominated)
  • Subclass 489 (Skilled – Regional (Provisional)
  • Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional (Provisional)

Skilled Visa

This visa is issued by the Government of Australia to people that allows them to live in the specific regions of Australia. The skilled visa holders can live up to 4 years in Australia. Further, you have to be sponsored by an Australian relative who is living in that particular region

 

People who have skilled visas are supposed to be in Australia before their initial entry date. It’s a policy, which is imposed by condition 8504. A particular date is mentioned on the visa grant notice for Skilled Visa holders and condition 8504.

 

As the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the travel activities badly and people couldn’t travel due to the travel ban. Therefore, the Government of Australia has eased the restrictions for some visa applications. People can come to Australia after their initial entry date. However, it’s advised to the skilled visa holders to come as close to their initial entry date as they can.

If you want to bring your children, partner, or relatives to Australia then you can apply for the Family Visa. Though, a family visa has some categories so you can choose a particular visa to bring your family to Australia. On the other side, if you want to settle in Permanent Residency Australia then you can apply for General Skilled Migration Program.

 

Moreover, if you want to renew your Working Holiday Maker Visa then you can apply through VAC wavier. People who have sponsorship by their Australian relative or the Government of Australia can apply for a skilled visa and stay there for 4 years.
