4 Education Pathways!

  1. Enrol in a course or package of courses

Study a course or combination of courses with a duration of at least 2 years. It must include Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

  • Diploma of Hospitality (6 months)
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (General) – 18 months

 

  1. Get your Temporary Graduate Visa

After completing 2 years of studies and 360 hours of vocational placement, you can apply for and receive a Temporary Graduate Visa 485. A 485 Visa is a work visa. You can work and live in Australia for a period of 18 months. Most education providers in Australia will assist you in arranging a vocational placement.

 

  1. Participate in the Job Ready Program

Upon completion of the JRP, you will get a positive skills assessment for general skilled migration to Australia. In Job Ready Program for chef, you have to work for at least 12 months as a qualified chef.

 

  1. Apply for a General Skilled Migration Visa

Chefs who have completed the Job Ready Program will receive a positive skills assessment. Following the positive skills assessment, you may be eligible to apply for a General Skilled Migration Visa.

 

If you are eligible for a general skilled migration visa, you do not need a sponsor. However, you must satisfy the health checks and points test required for this visa.
