Age
Points from age are based on the applicant’s age at the time of invitation to PR in Australia visa. Points are awarded in increments of 5 with an upper limit of 30 points and no lower limit.
Qualification
Qualification points range from 5-20 depending on the level of qualification attained and whether it was obtained within Australia or overseas.
Other Qualification
Additional points may be available for applicants who have completed studies, qualifications, or professional certifications outside normal qualifications such as First Aid Certificates, language tests like IELTS/TOEFL, etc.
Work experience
Work experience points can be awarded for paid work experience in skills relevant to your nominated occupation which is gained either inside or outside Australia.
Skilled employment in Australia
To gain skilled employment points, applicants must have gained at least 12 months of continuous and paid full-time work experience or the equivalent part-time work experience in their nominated occupation or a closely related field within the last 10 years.
Skilled employment outside of Australia
Applicants may be eligible to claim points for having worked in a closely related occupation outside of Australia. The amount of points available is dependent on the length of time spent overseas and varies from 5-15 points depending on the period worked and whether it was full-time or part-time.
Spouse application
Points may also be awarded if the partner of the Applicant who wants to apply for PR in Australia has certain qualifications, skills, or work experience which are relevant to the nominated occupation. These points are cumulative and can help an applicant to meet the minimum 65-point requirement for nomination and a successful visa application.
