If you’re a temporary resident in Australia, you need a Foreign Investment Review Board (FIBR) approval to buy a house on 485 visa. The process typically takes between 1 and 2 months. It costs AU$5,700 for residential property under AU$1 million.
The Australian Government allows temporary residents to own one established dwelling to live in as their home. The property must be their principal residence. Most importantly, this property cannot be rented out. If your primary residence is no longer yours, your property needs to be sold out within 3 months.
Can I Extend 485 Visa?
