Return of International Students in 2022 to Western Australia

Mark McGowan, Premier of Western Australia, has met with the vice-chancellors of Western Australian universities. According to reports, he informed them about the return of international students in 2022 in Western Australia.

It looks like the Premier’s announcement will make way for overseas students to return to Western Australia. The Government of Western Australia has confirmed the reopening of borders for fully vaccinated international arrivals. International students are expected to be back by the first semester of 2022.

The vaccinated overseas students will be welcomed to Perth from February 2022. It’d be possible if Western Australia achieved a 90% double vaccination rate. As soon as the State reaches 80%, which is expected to happen in December 2021, the date of the border opening will be announced soon.
