BSMQ Program & Skilled Occupation List | Immigration News

Australian government starts the BSMQ program for the skilled people. The subclass skilled work regional provisional visa is open from 19th April to 25th April 2021. If you have submitted an expression of interest (EOI) from 1st February to 7th February 2021 then a new EOI will not require. Please avoid from submitting multiple EOIs. The first one EOI will be picked and processed.

 

A Queensland 491-small Business owner (SBO) Pathway is now opened. Kindly note that amended requirements for Queensland 491- SBO started from 1st April 2021.

 

The skilled nominated permanent subclass visa 190 will remain close and not open again in April month 2021 as well as the required quota will be filled up with the current pipeline. The subclasses skilled nominated permanent visa 190 will be opened again in the next financial year once new skilled nominated allocation has been got by the home affairs department. The EOIs for Subclass visa 190 submitted from 1–7 February 2021 and will be continued to be processed.

Subclass Skilled Work Regional Provisional 491 visa Applicants

For skilled subclass 491 visa (from 65 points and above) only onshore applicants working in Queensland will be considered.

 

The Subclass visa 491 is open to COVID-19 critical skill or sectors as previously outlined:

  • Medical departments like Air ambulance, critical and technology medical
  • Engineering fields, Critical Infrastructure and Supply Chain
  • Telecommunications and Film & Television Production,
  • Large scale manufacturing fields
  • Maritime Industry and Agricultural Technology Food Technology,
  • Emerging Technology, Mining, and Financial Technology etc.

 

Following hospitality occupations have requirements regarding work experience. You must meet all the work experience requirements and caveats detailed in the below table.

The limited-service restaurant includes but not limited to the following like a takeaway food or fast food services, fast casual restaurants, drinking establishments that offer limited food service and limited-service cafes including but not limited to coffee shops and limited-service pizza restaurants.

 

 

Chef 351311 Requirements:  minimum post qualification with work experience of three years with 3 months in Queensland.
Exclude positions which involving mass production in a factory or a limited-service restaurant. The limited-service restaurant includes but not limited to the following like a takeaway food or fast food services, fast casual restaurants, drinking establishments that offer limited food service and limited-service cafes including but not limited to coffee shops and limited-service pizza restaurants.Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, Demi Chef, Second Chef, and Sous Chef are eligible.
Cook 351411

Requirements:  minimum post qualification with work experience of three years with 3 months in Queensland.
Chefs, kitchen-hands and fast food cooks are not included in this group.

The limited-service restaurant includes but not limited to the following like takeaway food or fast food services, fast casual restaurants, drinking establishments that offer limited food service and limited-service cafes including but not limited to coffee shops and limited-service pizza restaurants.

Important Notifications

There is no specific list of occupations and the applicants must fulfill the criteria of one of the critical skills and email to migrantion@gld.gov.au with details of employer, role and position in coronavirus crisis. The main requirement is to work for 3 months in Queensland regional location with a job offer for an additional one year from your employer in the nominated occupation.

 

Your application will be closed if your submitted EOI from 1-7 Feb 2021 did not meet the required minimum criteria regarding work experience at this date. You can get more information by reading the “I’m working in Queensland”.

 

Queensland Masters and PhD graduates (Alumni) must meet the working in Queensland according to criteria as detailed above. We will prioritize applications based on the above COVID criteria of occupations and not prioritize visas expiring.

ANZSCO & its Purpose

It is a system that is developed to collect, publish and analysis occupation statistics across government agencies and introduced by HA. ANZSCO is used for skilled visa and BSMQ program to check the visa eligibility requirements as the standard by which a visa applicant’s skills to undertake a specific occupation in Australia are assessed.
