- Should be in Australia at the time of application of visa
- Should be holding partner visa subclass 820.
Offshore partner visa subclass 309
This visa allows the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to come and live in Australia temporarily or until your permanent visa is processed. For this visa, one should be
- The applicant must be married to or in a de facto relationship with an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
- He or she should be living outside Australia at the time of application.
Offshore partner visa subclass 100
This is a permanent visa granted to married or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. For this visa, one should:
- The applicant must be in a de facto relationship or is married to an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
- Should be living outside Australia at the time of visa application
- Must be holding partner visa subclass 309
Prospective marriage visa subclass 300
Australian government grant visa subclass 300 to the fiancé of Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen so that they can come to Australia. This visa is granted for 9 months and in this period, the engaged couple is expected to get married. For this visa, one should be
- The age of the applicant must be 18 or more
- Engaged to be married to an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
- Must have the intention of getting married within the visa time limit
- Should be living outside Australia at the time of application.
Parent visa
Parent visa is further categorized in parent visa subclass 103 and contributory parent visa
Parent visa subclass 103

Parent visa subclass 103 allows the parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen to come and live in Australia permanently. The applicant must:
- Have a child who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
- Must satisfy the balance Family Test that requires that at least 50% of the applicant’s children must be the citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
- Fulfil health and character requirements.
Contributory parent visa subclass 173
This visa is for the parents of an Australian citizen or Australian permanent residents to come and live in Australia temporarily. The applicant must:
- have a child who is Australian national or an Australian permanent resident
- have at least 50% of the children to be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent residents
- Should require the health and character requirements
Parent visa subclass 143
This visa allows the parent of an Australian citizen to come and live in Australia permanently. The applicant must:
- have a child who is Australian national or an Australian permanent resident
