Temporary skill shortage visa subclass 482

Temporary skill shortage visa subclass 482 is a visa subclass that permits the employers in Australia to heir skilled people from abroad for a job on a condition that they should be unable to find the right candidate for that job in Australia. This is a temporary visa that has three different streams.

These streams are given as below:

Short term stream

This stream of TSS 482 visa allows the nominated employees belonging to the occupation listed in short term occupational list to live and work in Australia for 2-4 years.

Medium term stream

This stream allows the nominated employees belonging to the occupation listed in medium or long term occupational list to live and work in Australia up to 4 years.

Labour agreement stream

Labour agreement is a contract between the eligible employer and the government through which the employer can recruit skilled individuals from overseas on the term and conditions mentioned in the agreement.

Subclass 482 visa requirements:

482 visa requirements might change for its different streams but the basic conditions are given as below

  • The applicant must be sponsored by an eligible Australian employer
  • Must belong to the occupation listed in the relevant occupational list of the stream of TSS visa he or she is applying for
  • Should get skills assessed by the authorities and the outcome of the assessment should be positive
  • must have sufficient knowledge of the English language
  • Satisfy all health and character requirements

 

Employer nomination scheme visa subclass 186

Visa subclass 186 allows its holder to live and work in Australia permanently. The candidate should be sponsored by an eligible Australian employer. The condition on this visa is that the employer should be unable to find a suitable candidate for the nominated position in Australia. This is a permanent visa and has three streams.

This visa stream allows an eligible employer to nominate an employee from overseas who can live and work in Australia permanently on this visa.

Labour agreement stream

Under this visa subclass an employee from overseas can be sponsored by an eligible employer having a labour agreement with the Department of Home AffairsDepartment of Home Affairs. This visa stream allows its holder to live and work in Australia permanently

Department of Home Affairs

This stream is for the holders of temporary visas like subclass 482 or 485 to live and work in Australia permanently. They must get sponsored by an eligible employer first.

Subclass 186 visa requirements

Subclass 186 visa requirements might change for its different streams but the basic conditions are given as below

  • The applicant must be sponsored by an eligible Australian employer
  • Must belong to the occupation listed in the relevant occupational list.
  • Should get his or her skills assessed by the authorities and the outcome of the assessment should be positive
  • must have sufficient knowledge of the English language
  • Satisfy all health and character requirements

Employer-sponsored regional visa subclass 494

This visa is specifically for the regional areas of Australia. This visa permits the employer in regional areas of Australia to sponsor an employee from overseas to come, live and work in a regional area. This visa allows its holder to live in Australia for 5 years.

Subclass 494 visa requirements

  • The occupation of the applicant must belong to the relevant occupational list
  • Age of the applicant should be less than 45 years in age
  • Must get sponsored by an eligible employer in regional Australia
  • Should get his or her skill attested and the result of the assessment should be positive
  • Must satisfy health and character criteria
