Subclass 482 is for the employer who is unable to find suitable talent for the job they are offering in Australia. This visa is granted for a temporary period that varies according to the stream of the visa. This visa has three streams that are short-term stream, medium-term stream, and labour-agreement stream.

The basic conditions for this visa are:

  • The applicant must have sponsorship from an eligible employer who should be an Australian citizen or a permanent Australian resident.
  • Should belong to the occupation listed in the occupational list of the visa stream he or she is applying for
  • Must have his or her skill assessed and the result should be positive
  • Should have at least 3 years of work experience in a related field
  • Must be English competent according to the terms of the visa stream
  • Must meet health and character criteria

Employer scheme skilled visa subclass 186

This visa is for skilled people who get sponsored by an eligible employer who must be an Australian national or permanent resident to come to Australia and perform a job he or she is offering. But for sponsoring an employee from overseas the employer must be unable to find the right person for that particular job in Australia. This is a permanent visa that allows its holder to move to Australia permanently. This visa also has three streams that are direct entry stream, temporary residence transition stream, and labour agreement stream.

The basic conditions of this visa are given as under:

  • The applicant must have sponsorship from an eligible employer who should be an Australian citizen or a permanent Australian resident.
  • Should belong to the occupation listed in the occupational list of the visa stream he or she is applying for
  • Must have his or her skill assessed and the result should be positive
  • Should have at least 3 years of work experience in a related field
  • Must be English competent according to the terms of the visa stream
  • Must meet health and character criteria
  • The age limit of being less than 40 years also implies in most of its stream.

Employer sponsored skilled regional visa subclass 494

This subclass is rather a newer subclass that targets the regional areas of Australia. The employer in regional Australia can sponsor employees from overseas under this visa subclass. These sponsored employees can come to Australia and work in the regional areas of Australia. This is a temporary visa that is granted for five years but one can apply for Australian PR after 3 years of living and working in regional Australia.

Conditions for this visa are:

  • The employee must be sponsored by an eligible employer
  • Must belong to the occupation that is listed in the relevant occupational list
  • Should not be more than 50 years in age
  • Applicant must be English competent
  • Must also satisfy all health and character requirements
