The Australian Govt. has introduced this visa for 485 visa holders who lost time on their original visa due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions. With a 485 visa, you can live, work and study in Australia for a short period of time.

 

The replacement stream allows you to add your family members to Australia. It costs AUD 1,730. Though, if you include a family member, there’ll be separate charges. You and your family members must be in good health and have good character to be eligible for a 485 visa.

Replacement Stream 485 – How Long Can You Stay in Australia?

You can stay in Australia from 12 months to 5 years with a replacement stream 485. Your stay period also depends on your Australian qualification or a 485 visa you held previously.

 

This visa will have the same grant period as your previous one, except that if you were:

  • Previously received a Post Study Work visa for 2 years as a result of your Master of Coursework qualification, you can stay in Australia for 3 years now.
  • Formerly granted a Work Stream visa for 18 months, you can stay for 2 years. When submitting your application, you must check the current period that applies.
  • Applicants from Hong Kong and British National Overseas passport holders can stay for 5 years.
